Taking care of your shoes and bags

Hey everyone! Are you enjoying the weekend?

I was going to do a review of the cruise collections that are happening, but I decided to wait with that. Next Saturday will be all about the cruise/resort collections. So today I thought I’m going to give you some tips on how to take care of your shoes/bags. We all know that a product’s life span is finite, but there are some tricks to extend this.

BAGS

Now this applies mostly to the leather bags. Use a leather conditioner to prevent wrinkling. My conditioner is from Cole Haan and I got it when I was in the US. I’ve been using it ever since then. Just put some drops of the conditioner on a preferably soft cloth. Start rubbing it all over the bag. When you are finished, leave your bag out for 15 minutes. After this, you can spray some waterproofing spray on your bag if you have some. Don’t forget to stuff your bag with tissue paper because this way your bag will keep its shape. If your bag came with a dust bag, you should store your bag in it. If you don’t have one, I recommend that you buy some. They are usually cheap.

SHOES

The one thing you need for your shoes – no matter if leather, canvas etc. – is the Jason Markk quick wipes. These wipes are amazing! I tried some other brands but they were not as effective as these ones. qw

These cost £22 and you get 30 wipes per box. You can easily clean 2 pairs of shoes with just one wipe. This, of course, will depend on how dirty your shoes are, but I usually manage to clean 2 pairs with it. I just buy these from Amazon but I’ve seen these in Selfridges as well. If you have leather shoes, you can apply the same conditioner that you use on your bags.

That’s it for today, some useful tips to you about product care.

See you on Monday,

The Fashion Eclectic.
